At Queston Roofing & Construction, We Pride Ourselves on the Strength, Expertise, and Dedication of Our Leadership-

And at the forefront of that leadership is our co-founder and president, Tina Cordova.

Born and raised in Tularosa, New Mexico, Tina is a sixth-generation native with deep ties to her community and state. Since co-founding Queston Construction in 1990 with her partner, Russ Steward, Tina has been a trailblazer in the commercial construction and roofing industries. With just $5,000 in savings, the company has grown into a powerhouse, completing projects for prestigious clients such as Los Alamos National Labs, Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Labs, the City of Albuquerque, and the State of New Mexico.

Industry Leadership

Tina’s influence extends far beyond her role as president. She is a past president of the New Mexico Roofing Contractors Association, where she worked to set higher standards for roofing practices across the state. Under her leadership, Queston has been consistently ranked as one of New Mexico’s largest women-owned businesses and roofing contractors by New Mexico Business Weekly.

Accolades and Advocacy

Tina’s achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including:

  • SBA New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year (2000)
  • Entrepreneur of the Year, New Mexico (1998)
  • MBDA Minority Construction Contractor of the Year (2007)
  • Named one of Hispanic Magazine’s Top 100 Latinas in the US (2003)
  • Outstanding Alumnus, New Mexico Highlands University (2003)

As a champion for minority and women-owned businesses, Tina has served as Chair of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as President of the New Mexico 8(a) and Minority Business Association. Her leadership helped organize one of the largest Department of Energy Small Business Conferences ever held, demonstrating her commitment to fostering growth and collaboration in the business community.

A Legacy of Growth and Innovation

Under Tina Cordova’s guidance, Queston Construction has become synonymous with quality, innovation, and leadership in New Mexico’s construction and roofing industries. With a strong commitment to safety, community, and excellence, Tina continues to lead Queston to new heights—building not just structures, but a legacy that will inspire future generations.

Advocacy for the Downwinders

Tina’s commitment to advocacy is just as impressive as her business accomplishments. In 2005, she co-founded the Tularosa Basin Downwinders Consortium (TBDC) to bring attention to the devastating health effects suffered by New Mexicans exposed to radiation from the Trinity nuclear test in 1945. As a thyroid cancer survivor herself, Tina has dedicated her life to lobbying for compensation and healthcare for the innocent victims of nuclear testing. Her work has gained national recognition and played a vital role in raising awareness of the long-term impacts of radiation exposure on New Mexican communities.

A Life Rooted in Community and Excellence

Tina’s commitment to excellence stems from her academic foundation—a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from New Mexico Highlands University. She balances her professional achievements with her role as a devoted mother and grandmother to her son David and grandsons Demetrius and Marcus.

When Tina isn’t leading the team at Queston or advocating for her industry, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors—hiking, fishing, camping, or spending time with her family.
